New Website and New Blog!

I'm so excited to show off my new website!

It has more images, information and makes it easy to see what I'm up to!  All of my contact information is there so you can follow me on facebook or twitter.

So 2 years and 200+ posts later, I'm moving to a new blog!  It's been a slice, but head over this way...

Vancouver Timeraiser - Art Winners

This will be my second year of involvement with Timeraiser, and I'm very excited about it - it's such a great idea!  Everyone involved is a winner - the artists, the volunteers and the agencies.  Check out their website - - to get the whole picture.
I'm the lucky photographer who gets to meet and photograph a few of the Art Winners - the dedicated people who bid on a piece of art in 2009 and completed the 125-hour pledge in order to receive the art later this week.
Here are five of the art winners.

This year's event is on Thursday, September 23rd at the Roundhouse Community Centre.  You can still get tickets - hope to see you there!

12x12 YVR - Start & Finish

Start and Finish

I had a very interesting day.  I was a part of the Vancouver Photo Marathon - 12 themes, 12 exposures, 12 hours.
It was more grueling than I expected, but part of that is attributed to my dislike of times before 8am, the relentless rain and the other things that needed to be done during the day.

It started at 7:30am with a roll of film - it's been a few years now since I last shot a roll! - and ended at 8:30pm with a Guinness.  In between I interpreted 12 themes (1 theme was released every hour on the hour) and only I shot for each theme.  I think I've got a few good ones, and a few that got caught in the rush of the day.

Now I have to wait until October 16th when the images will be on display at the Vancouver Photo Workshops on W 7th Ave.  Very excited to see if my images turned out and what the 59 other participants came up with!

The View from the Top of the World!

I love being in the outdoors, and ironically, I'm inside while editing these photos of the beautiful Panorama Ridge and Garibaldi Lake.
Last weekend, the big hurrah end of summer hike, was gorgeous and ended too soon!
Such a beautiful place!

Happy First Anniversary, Theo & Krista!

Sunny day in Saskatchewan just over a year ago!  Oh my it was hot, and such a great day.  I hope that your first year has been just as wonderful!

It was SO hot that day and the Sno-Kones were very well received.

John & Jess - John Getting Ready

With the finishing touches ready for the men, we met up with John's Entourage and made our way to the basketball courts.
At first it seemed like they were like John's body guards - soon it was obvious that they were there as entertainment and in case John hurt himself.

John & Jess - Jess Getting Ready

I love the "getting ready" part of the wedding day - the air is filled with excitement & anticipation mixed with a little nervousness.  I don't even mind getting told to wait or move out of the way since the preparation seems to take longer than expected, especially for the women.

It's good time to see all the little details - the colour of the lipstick, the beautiful hairpins that were carefully chosen to match the stunning dress.  And I love seeing everyone around to help (or trying!) to make it all come together in time.

Steaming the dress!
