You must be wondering... where is the image for this post? Well, it's here in a way - follow the link to my new online portfolio!

I hope you enjoy looking at a small collection of my work. I will continue to add interesting, new, exciting and fun images to the portfolio site, as well as share stuff here on the blog.

Thanks for being here ... and there...

Happy Anniversary!

It was a glorious May morning last year when Laura & Galen were married on Goose Spit in Comox, BC. It was a small, intimate ceremony, ending with one of the best send-offs I've seen so far - a plane!

I hope your year has been as wonderful as your wedding!

Catching Up

I must say that it's rather lovely to catch up with a friend that I haven't seen in a while. This weekend I spent a few hours in a small town cafe with Kelsey, one of my classmates from photography school.

It's reminded me of some of my work from then - and specifically some of the work I did for the fine art section of my final portfolio project. So I'm excited to share a bit of it here!

Here comes the Sun

I am definitely a sunny weather girl.

I'm getting rather excited for the May long weekend... it's supposed to get good and hot here in BC!!!! That means time for the beach. It's been raining and I'm not a rainy day person if it's already been raining for days. However, I realize that the rain makes the flowers and trees happy, especially with sunshine as a chaser, so I can smile under my umbrella.

Here's to you, flowers! ;-)

Summer music festivals

For not having attended a lot of summer music festivals in my early days, I'm certainly wanting to make up for it now! I love them - so much music, so much sunshine (hopefully!), so many people and so much fun! It's hard to get to them all in the summer, but last year I was able to go to the Vancouver Island Music Festival in Courtenay, BC and the Big Time Out in Cumberland, BC. Both were great! I'm hoping to be able get back there this summer, and/or try a different one as well.

Here are some images from 2007's Van Isle music fest. I'm missing the 2008 volunteer party/sign-up tonight, and I would have really like to have seen the slide show from last year... so here's a little slide show from me!

ps. This year's line up is GREAT - including one of my all-time favourite bands, The Weakerthans. Check it -

Hanging out at the beach

I love the beach.

Being a prairie girl that is living by the ocean means every visit has something new, interesting, exciting and/or creepy to see. My dog thinks so too. Actually, she may like the beach more than me, but only by a little. ;-)

Here's a few images from earlier in April. There are lots of herons at 'my' beach, and the low tide leaves a lot of creatures exposed to curious prairie folk.
