Every once in a while I like to jump in a car, follow my friends and end up at... I can't help it.  I love good food.  Especially chocolate.  And cheese.  And photographing it is (almost as) great.   Here's a few samples from the GeoEye Partners Conference last week at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver.  I love the food there.  It's divine.   So many to choose from!  I just tried them all... Oh my... so fun! GeoEye Imagery held their annual conference at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver this year, and I was there to capture the fun at their opening reception.  With costumes and a background from Rare Indigo, we set up this photobooth.  It took some time for folks to get into it, but all of a sudden they couldn't get enough!   Thanks to Janos for assisting me on this! ©

Last Friday started as a fabulous night - photographing one of my favourite bands for Discorder - You Say Party! We Say Die! - seeing them for the first time... the beginning of the set was awesome. Photographing + excellent food = Happy Marlis! These colourful tasty images are from an event at the Pan Pacific Hotel in December. They are making me hungry!mmmmmm... sushi.The biggest question for me with great meals like this is whether or not to take a roll - in some ways, it just fills you up faster, however, these look so good that I wanted one too! Yes, if I could have dessert first all the time, I probably would. It's pretty exciting to have some snow dusting the streets of Vancouver. I'm reminded of a winter wedding I photographed at Cypress Hills Provincial Park where the groom's biggest hope for his wedding day was snow... and we got plenty of it!...love these!

I was so lucky to spend the afternoon with Raine & her mom at one of their favourite places - Granville Island! Raine has such beautiful, bright eyes, a contagious laugh and a great fashion sense! Usually I play volleyball here in the summer and it looks very different without all of that... but opens it up for some amazing photos. Just look at that light - it gives me shivers!
